Ferreck Dawn’s distinctive drum-driven sound has become synonymous with the Dutchman after 20 years in the game.

His music has landed him gigs at major clubs and festivals, been picked up by labels like Defected, Repopulate Mars, and Club Sweat—and also hit Beatport’s #1 spot.

Dutch tech-house producer Ferreck Dawn started DJing in 2003 and launched his own label, Broken Boundaries Recordings, a few years later.

After releasing music on several labels, including Spinnin’ Deep and Broken Boundaries, he scored his first significant hit in 2014 with “Love Too Deep”, a song he wrote with production duo Redondo that peaked at number 50 on the U.K. chart.

Freek Coppens, born in 1985 in Veldhoven, Noord Brabant, started going to clubs at age 15. It was there that he first heard the tougher techno sounds then popular in the Netherlands—and purchased his first set of decks three years later.

He started his career performing in nightclubs in the city of Eindhoven, before moving on to bigger events and festivals. Eventually he landed a residency at DansSalon (the well-known dance club). He began creating his own music in 2006 and submitting demos to major labels.

He promised his parents that he would graduate from college before turning his attention to music full-time, and he kept this promise even though it meant taking on more than one major at a time.

After college, he moved to Amsterdam and got his start by working for record stores and labels like ID&T. He was eventually promoted to oversee the Sensation dance events—a prestigious gig within the electronic music scene—and now works at Armada as a trance powerhouse.

He began making music again, starting a record label called Broken Boundaries and releasing two songs—”Bottled Emotions/Bring That Bass” and “SAS/April”—in 2008.

In the years following, labels such as Smoke Records and Melomine released a number of his dance compositions. The SaTrinxa EP was released in 2011 by Nervous Records; Sidestep by Leaders of the New School was also made available that year.

In 2013 he created the minimalist house track “Tattoo Girl” with fellow Dutchmen Redondo.

Ferreck Dawn’s breakthrough success came in 2014, with the retro-influenced single “Love Too Deep,” which peaked at number 48 on the U.K. singles chart and garnered more than a million streams in its first few months of release!

Throughout 2015, Spinnin’ Deep released several singles with Redondo. These were followed by collaborations with BISHP, Franky Rizardo (who is also a member of the duo), Joe Stone and Dutch DJ/producer Rene Amesz.

In 2017, Simma Black’s Bang Bang EP was released. Then, Club Sweat’s You & Me EP; Toolroom’s “Wilderness”; Dawn’s collaborative tracks with the Deepshakerz (“All Nighter”) and Robosonic (“In Arms”).
